Position Overview

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy is a global leader in the wind power industry. This technician position is a front line customer facing role verifying the quality of our products from delivery to customer handover at our new construction project sites in the U.S. The position reports to the performance quality manager.

Responsibilities

The quality technician is responsible to monitor and evaluate the various quality aspects of a project before and during the installation phase.

Specific responsibilities:

Verification of Turbine Specifications – The inspector's main responsibility is making sure the turbine is built according to the technical specifications. The Quality inspector will need to perform audits and inspections in order to fulfill this responsibility. Main inspections consist of receiving inspection, mechanical completion, final Inspection after commissioning. Additional Inspections can be required based on the project and Corporate requirements.

Communication - Responsible for scheduling meetings with the customer and site manager to discuss the findings on the turbines in order to assure continual improvement. Report and assist in any meetings needed with the back office personnel and management. Interpret and implement quality assurance processes with relevant site personnel.

Non Conformance Record – Find, document, and follow up non-conformance occurrences. Follow up on effectiveness of containment and corrective actions. Provide support to the investigation of the nonconformance. (pictures, measurements, documents, etc). Verify the effectiveness of the implemented corrective action.

Documentation Verification - Review Assembly records, commissioning reports, and component traceability for accuracy, and compliance with the contractual specifications, agreements, and milestones. Ensure that quality assurance standards and regulatory requirements are met. Read and interpret work orders, inspection manuals engineering diagrams, drawings, and schematics to determine inspection and test procedures.

Availability - Work in difficult and inclement weather conditions. Physical constraints to include lifting up to 50 lbs, working in confined spaces, and climbing at heights greater than 180 feet. Available meet flexible travel requirements, work on holidays, night shifts, or long hours.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

Engineering Degree.

· 
Prior experience in the wind industry.

· 
Fast learner and able to pass the training requirements of SGRE.

· 
Proficient and comfortable working with computers and iPads in MS Office and learning other SGRE specific applications.Team oriented with strong communication skills.

· 
Well organized with ability to create and maintain reports.

· 
Quality oriented with an ability to identify non conformances to technical standards.

· 
Perform and use calibrated hand tools.

· 
Strong mechanical and electrical inspection experience.

· 
Advanced understanding of SGRE processes, tools, and computer systems.

· 
Available to work on holidays, night shifts, long hours.

Individual must possess a valid Driver's license in good standing.
Individual must be at least 21 years of age in order to participate in the required Siemens vehicle plan.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

Prior experience in the SGRE industry.

Bi-lingual English/Spanish (fluent spoken and written)
