Siemens Mobility Rolling Stock Division is seeking a dedicated, driven and collaborative Quality Assurance Professional at our growing Sacramento, California location. In this important role, your attention to detail and quality orientation will ensure our production process adheres to internal and
external standards and requirements.

Responsibilities

·  Conducts first article inspection of parts, assemblies, equipment and tooling and provide summary reports and diagnostics.

·  Enters maintains and extract information from Material Resource Planning, noncompliance tracking tools and Configuration management System. Works on assignments with general supervision.

·  Follows existing instructions and specifications to perform inspections.

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities

·  High school or equivalent. 1 to 7 years experience in a weld shop environment.

·  1 or more years experience with CWI inspection of increasingly difficult inspection involving the application and working knowledge of sophisticated measuring techniques.

·  Complex dimensional, drawing and weld standard interpretation experience.

·  AWS Certified Visual Weld Inspector Associate certification.

·  Certification in non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques in: a. Die-Penentrant (PT) b. Magnetic-Particle. Both requirements must be met within the first twelve (12) months of the job assignment.

·  Performs a wide variety of inspections in the Carshell welding and bogey manufacturing areas. Follows general inspection guidelines to conduct routine visual CWI, dimensional, and mechanical inspections on a wide variety of welded and machined components and assemblies.

·  Utilizes one or more non-destructive testing techniques to verify acceptablity of welded and machined components.

·  You will be asked to use experience and judgement to ascertain outcome/results meaning. Able to provide routine disposition for common defects.

·  Interfaces with Assembly Supervisory Staff, Purchasing Staff, suppliers and customer inspectors. Significant role in acceptance and progress of work. Erroneous decisions or actions can cause up to serious delays, inefficiencies or additional expenses impacting a project or the department.

·  While performing the duties of this job, you will be required to is to stand, walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. You will be asked to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear and sit.

·  You will be asked regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 40 pounds or more. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

·  While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts; in high, precarious places; and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Protective hearing gear will be supplied.
