Responsibilities

Siemens Mobility is seeking to hire and entry level software developer to be a part of our R&D software development team where we are dedicated to building a high quality product to improve rail safety. Responsibilities within the software development process include:

·  Software design
·  Software implementation
·  Software enhancement and refactoring
·  Software maintenance
·  Software unit and integration testing

Performance is based on quality and quantity of software, attention to detail, and the ability to work within a team.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

·  BS/BA in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience
·  1-2 years of software development experience
·  Software development experience in one or more general purpose programming languages, preferably C++/C
·  Object Oriented programming experience
·  UML experience
·  Data Structure

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

·  Experience with other languages a plus: Python, Perl, Java, C#
·  Experience with Linux preferred
·  Interest and ability to learn other coding languages as needed.
·  Work well in small teams, where teamwork is key to the success of the group.
·  Able to communicate efficiently with a broad cross section of technical and non-technical colleagues

General Requirements:

Supports standard design, maintenance, enhancement, testing implementation, and support of software. Provides support with the development of:

Software test requirements for standard modules under development, may execute standard test specifications. Advises in providing estimates for standard modules under development, and may estimate own work. Provides support in reviewing standard customers' standards specification and other documentation to resolve software engineering requirements.

Education:

BS/BA in related discipline, or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification may be required in some areas.
