Position Overview

The Siemens Building Technologies Division is searching for a dynamic Fire Design Engineer to design fire alarm and Mass Notification systems using company tools and operating protocols. As a Design Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on a multi-million dollar Fire and Mass Notification system at local industrial facility 'and will receive project specifications from the sales team and design turn-key fire alarm systems. You will choose the appropriate mix of products and installation methods to provide the most cost effective solution. Preparing all required submittals and scheduling subsequent hand-off to operations and handling the ordering of all required products and equipment are also a part of the role. Responsibilities

Our Design Engineers act as a technical resource to team and customer. You will participate in sales to operations turnover meetings to evaluate accuracy of the sales estimate and job layout and initial job site walk through with contractors and/or building management. As a Design Engineer you will work independently to design life safety systems in a large Industrial Environment. You will use your creativity to design solutions to meet customer requirements. Our Design Engineers analyze plans, construction contract specifications and codes to determine project requirements and risks. Along with preparing engineering re-estimate and follows up with appropriate sales and management they also assure the understanding of and satisfaction with job scope. You will prepare specifications and drawings for special components and panels purchased from outside suppliers and all information on pre-installation extras or change orders to submit to customer or general/ subcontractor. Required Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience

·  Associates degree in Electronics or other technical field or equivalent experience.
·  10 years experience in engineering /systems or other related experience.
·  Strong knowledge of industry engineering fundamentals and business operations required. Experience with industry related Commercial Fire Alarm products.
·  NICET II Certification.
·  Knowledge of Microsoft Office, MDT/CT, Navigator, and AutoCAD or any related Engineering Design Software required.
·  Good verbal and written communication skills.
·  Fully proficient and independent design skills.
