Role Summary/Purpose

The Test Facility Mechanic performs inspections, troubleshoots, repairs, replaces, installs and adjust non-powered electronic, electric and mechanical equipment and rotating power service machinery.

Essential Responsibilities

As a Test Facility Mechanic you will:

·  Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, install, adjust and maintain mechanical and rotating systems and equipment
·  Utilize technical procedures, drawings, equipment specifications and repair instructions to troubleshoot, repair and install rotating power machinery and insure proper specifications are met
·  Complete preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, repair and maintain essential operating systems through the Preventive Maintenance Program to ensure reliability
·  Install and test instrumentation with special equipment and verify systems output on balancing software (Quasar)
·  Dismantle equipment, using hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools and hydraulic tools
·  Maintain safe working conditions and environment throughout department
·  Dismantle, repair, replace, install and maintain electrical equipment such as hardware, AC/DC servo drives, electronics, circuit boards, electrical accessories and others
·  Inspect, replace and repair plant equipment from defects in wiring, switches, motors, generators, circuit breakers, transformers, circuit boards, and computer electronic Parts, accessories, hardware, and others
·  Conduct electrical testing for production related components, including hi-pot, impedance, electrical generator testing and copper resistance testing, as needed to assist engineers
Qualifications/Requirements

·  High School Diploma / GED
·  Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in a manufacturing, service facility or public environment applying electrical and mechanical principals in repair, installation and maintenance of various types of electrical and mechanical equipment
·  Minimum of 1 year of experience using precision measuring instruments ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

·  Ability and willingness to work rotating shifts
·  Ability and willingness to work overtime to include off-hours, weekends and holidays
Desired Characteristics

·  Associate’s Degree or Trade School Degree
·  3 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing, service facility or public environment applying electrical and mechanical principals in repair, installation and maintenance of various types of electrical and mechanical equipment
·  3 years of experience with precision measuring instruments such as oscilloscopes, digital low resistance ohmeters, meggers, micrometers, etc. to calibrate, test and adjust equipment for proper operating characteristics
·  1 year of experience reading blueprints / drawings
·  Overhead Crane / Forklift experience
·  Computer skills (Basic proficiency in Excel)
·  Electrical testing equipment
