Role Summary/Purpose

The Test Automation Engineer are software developers who design and write programs that run unit and functional automatic tests on new or existing software desktop and Web applications. They use Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) or custom automation frameworks to build these programs and write test scripts that do the testing. They integrate test suites into the test management system and CI environment. They mentor other software developers in test automation.
Essential Responsibilities

Interact with Product Managers and Engineers to learn new features via documentation, reviews and programming interfaces
Manual and automated development testing, release candidate testing and regression testing of web application
creating test data
creating test automation utilities to system and database to validate processing
Research and report issues into tracking database and maintain daily communication with team members via bug documentation status reports meetings etc..
Qualifications/Requirements

Minimum 3+ years of software quality assurance testing with web applications
2 + years experience with back-end & front -end testing with ability to read code & develop automated test scripts
Experience with back end API and web services testing using SOAP, POST man Rest assured etc..
Experience with front end testing using Selenium, QTP
Knowledge on any SQL(MySQL/Oracle) or No SQL (Couch base/MongoDB) data base
Desired Characteristics

1. Requires 3-5 years of software testing design and execution including manual and automated testing, coding, execution, and debugging of functional, non-functional, and integration testing
2. Hands on experience on Designing Test Automation Framework.
3. Experience in Developing and Execution of Automation Scripts. Implementation Experience in Automation coding scripts in Data-Driven, Hybrid and page object model framework.
4. Capable of Understanding Regression Suite, doing feasibility analysis , preparing detailed Automation Scripts and reviewing the test scripts.
5. Experience in Preparation of Test plans, Test case design, Test data preparation, Test Execution and Defect Reporting.
6. Develop and enhance the test infrastructure and continuous integration framework used across the organization.
7. Participate in knowledge capitalization and dissemination of test automation best practices; Mentors developers to ensure effective test automation.
8. Experience with REST/SOAP API testing.
9. Knowledge in writing and executing SQL Queries automating tests with Selenium / QTP
10. Experience testing with Web applications.
