Danone North America is looking for a Logistics Supervisor, Night Shift - Dallas in Dallas, TX.

General Summary:


Must be highly competent in displaying leadership abilities that help empower others to performance levels that contribute to the achievement of corporate, plant and personal goals. Must be a strong team player with an absolute commitment to safety and quality. Requires enthusiasm that energizes and motivates Associates while directing the warehouse and logistics activities of the plant, including warehousing, transportation and offsite storage locations.

Responsibilities:

·  Supervises all warehouse associates and work closely with associates in Production, Maintenance, QA and Human Resources
·  Trains, coaches, mentors, and provides feedback/recognition to associates
·  Maintains a safe and clean working environment for all associates and visitors. Ensures all safety rules are followed
·  Communicates Standard Operating Procedures and plant rules to all team members and ensures that they are implemented and strictly adhere to
·  Monitors all loads for accuracy and correct shipping placement on outside carriers
·  Responsible for pallet inventory in and out of the plant
·  Responsible for maintaining the loading and releasing of all finished goods to our customers on time and in an orderly fashion
·  Work with Q.A. Department to insure that only product that has cleared “HOLD” will be shipped to our customers
·  Assist Operations Team in verifying accurate production counts and code dates on all manufacturing items
·  Conducts regularly scheduled team meetings
·  Analysis of warehouse practices to develop new procedures to reduce expense, improve inventory accuracy, efficiency and service
·  Monitor orders/inventory to prevent product shortages and develop processes to eliminate potential shortages
·  Documents notable items, both positive and negative, and places in personnel file
·  Maintains lines of communication between associates and management
·  Union experience preferred
·  Supports and deploys all plant initiatives such as: MOS (management operating system), TPM (total productive maintenance), Maintenance Excellence, SQF (safe quality foods), etc.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

A. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Thorough understanding of regulatory laws
• Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
• Strong leadership skills
• Team oriented
• Ability to mentor and develop productive staff
• Basic understanding of budgeting and cost control
• Ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization from corporate
senior management to floor associates

B. Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent of education and experience preferred
• Five to ten years related experience and/or training
• Food manufacturing experience is preferred
• Combination of education, experience or training that would provide the level of knowledge, skill and ability required is acceptable
• SAP experience a must, preference is in transportation and warehouse management modules.
• Working knowledge of Demand Planning, Supply Chain, Transportation & Inventory Processes.
• Prior experience working with warehouse management systems specialized in RF controlled inventories.

Materials and Equipment Directly Used:
o Office machinery including: Computers, printers, fax machines, copiers, telephones, etc.
o Software including: Microsoft Office (excel, word, visio, etc), Lotus Notes, SAP, MP2
o Facility machinery including: Dairy processing & packaging equipment, forklifts, etc.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs, balance; stoop, kneel or crouch; talk and hear. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to both a general office environment where the noise level is usually moderate and manufacturing environment where noise levels are moderate to high. Expectations for a Logistics Supervisor will require 45-65% of time spent in the 35˚ finished goods cooler to coach, inspect, & improve operations.
