A role for an experienced NOC engineer to join the team as an L3 NOC Service Engineer based in Airbus Defence and Space Secure Communications in Newport, Wales.

You will provide technical assistance and instructional documentation to other Resolver Groups within the wider Service Operations and 2nd line network engineers within the NOC.

You will provide an interface to other technical your team within projects including Architects, other engineering disciplines, and sub-contractors. Candidates need to be clear communicators and able to work to solve incidents raised to you by other engineers.

You will also undertake shift relief tasks to cover the NOC Service desk. 

You will need to be eligible to gain UK DV Security Clearance to undertake the role.

Responsibilities

·  You will provide a technical support in resolving service incidents, to bring about a resolution
·  You will apply technical governance to inbound deliveries from the project design phase to ensure they reflect the live environment
·  You will promote efficiency in task delivery and author required process
·  You will provide concise documentation to help provide services
·  You will promote industry standards, vendor specific certifications and complimentary academic qualifications including Cisco
·  You will participate in the ‘on call’ function as needed by the service contract

Experience

·  Technical competence in Networking across multiple vendors (Cisco / HP / Avaya / Palo Alto / Juniper)
·  Experience of Firewalls (Checkpoint / Cisco ASA, Palo Alto), managing and configuring policies, VPN’s, patches, upgrades
·  Experience with Cisco and Aruba Wireless
·  VoIP experience desirable
·  Experience configuring, supporting, solving problems, debugging and administering Wireless Access Points
·  Experience interpreting, producing, and tracking technical documentation
