Job Description

Our UK Graduate Programme provides exceptional graduates the opportunity to master managerial and technical skills. Over the two year period it combines rotational placements with focused training and the possibility of European assignments as well as further personal development and the chance to build your professional network.

From day one, you will be assigned to a particular department and will be guided through the various placement opportunities that exist within your function, the wider business and even with customers and suppliers. This, along with training provided works to ensure you are ready and experienced enough to take the next step of your career following the programme's conclusion.

This position is in the Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) department within Infrastructure Management. Airbus has provided managed ILS for multiple programmes for the MOD and overseas Government organisations; these include for the UK MOD Skynet 5 and the Reacher programme as well as Yahsat for the UAE Government. The equipment forming these systems has included both mechanical and electronic/IT equipment with ILS being involved from a concept stage of the programme through to disposal.

Tasks

Main activities of the role may include;

The primary role of the Graduate ILS Engineer is to support customers with equipment (hardware, firmware and software) supportability challenges ensuring a proactive approach which proposes practical and innovative solutions ensuring maximum equipment availability.

·  Being part of a team providing proactive advice to projects or support teams for current projects, indicating failure trends, revised Mean Time Between Failures (MTBFs) based on actual field data etc.
·  Being part of a team ensuring that new proposals/prospects receive innovative advice and have an optimum cost/risk trade off with regards to component selection through life.
·  Derive, implement, maintain and continuously improve the process for monitoring asset repair, replacement timescales and KPI metrics.
·  Ensure that they achieve the budget of projects and technical requirements in accordance with Airbus processes.
·  Being part of a team providing progress reports including monthly progress and finance inputs, weekly SOFTs, resource plans, KPI metrics

Skills

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following;

·  A degree in Mathematics, Business Logistics/Supply Chain or similar
·  Basic knowledge/understanding of ILS
·  Knowledge of repair analysis
·  An understanding of Logistics Support Analysis Planning

This role will be based in Stevenage and will receive the full Airbus Defence & Space Graduate programme benefit package including an annual Salary of £27,000, plus a welcome payment of £2,000.
