Location:  This role is based in Portsmouth with hybrid working available

About the Role...

This is an exciting opportunity to lead our manufacturing engineering team on some of Airbus's key spacecraft projects,, including OneSat, SkyNet & ESA's Galileo.

The Head of Manufacturing Engineering will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and high-quality production of Space Equipment's. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

How will you contribute to the team…

· 
Manage and lead a team of mechanical/electronics manufacturing engineers, providing guidance, support, and coaching to achieve departmental and company goals.

· 
Develop, implement, and optimise manufacturing processes for electronic components, focusing on efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality, whilst identifying opportunities for automation and the integration of new technologies to enhance manufacturing processes.

· 
Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure products meet or exceed industry standards and customer expectations.

· 
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, production, and supply chain, to coordinate project activities, as well as suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality electronic components and materials.

· 
Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines.
Monitor and control manufacturing costs while optimising processes and maintaining quality.

About you...

· 
Strong experience of managing a diverse and multi-experienced team of engineers. Providing direction to those more experienced, and guidance and development to the junior members of the team.

· 
Good, all round understanding of manufacturing engineering, ideally with experience of low volume, bespoke/specialist assets.
