About the Role...

Airbus Defence & Space are seeking an EEE (Electrical, Electronic and Electromechanical) Component Engineer to support some of our biggest Space & Satellite manufacturing projects, notably OneSat, Skynet & ESA's Galileo.

Working from our Satellite payload manufacturing site in Portsmouth, we are seeking someone who is able to work autonomously, with strong interpersonal skills, who has an eye for delivering successful projects within budgets and quality adherence.

How you will contribute to the team…

· 
The Component Engineer is accountable to the project core team leader and responsible for all aspects of component delivery, ultimately assuring that components are available in production to cost, schedule and at the right quality level.

· 
Providing Electrical, Electronic and Electro Mechanical (EEE) Component expertise for Electronic Equipment production.

· 
Knowledge of component technologies, passive, active and electromechanical, associated manufacturing techniques, screening and qualification methods.  

· 
Undertaking costing and bid support, EEE & PCB selection, demand management, labour spend and usage support, including technical and quality support to end-customer.

· 
Collection and harmonization of EEE needs from internal customers, propose technical solution to commodity/strategy group, feed-back agreed roadmap to internal customers and ensure application in design team via the Local Parts Committee.

· 
Responsible for technical/quality support to end-customer (internal or external) as well as to lower tier suppliers for sub-assembly procurements.

About you...

· 
Knowledge and experience in Electronic / Component Engineering preferably in a highly regulated industry (Aerospace, Automotive, Rail, Nuclear, Marine etc.)

· 
Project Management exposure, specifically the delivery of projects against quality, schedule and cost requirements.

· 
Ability to build strong internal and external networks.

· 
Must be comfortable managing the interface between internal projects and EEE support teams, pushing back when necessary.

· 
Good understanding of current quality practices.
