Purpose/Description: Work collaboratively with internal customers, maintenance technicians and vendors to deliver high quality tooling and equipment to support safe and efficient assembly of Mack Trucks.

Core Responsibilities:
·  Gather inputs from production and work cross functionally to develop tooling and equipment to support safe and efficient assembly of trucks
·  Work with cross-functional team to develop scope of work documents for requesting quote for tooling and equipment solutions from approved vendors
·  Work with internal and external fabricators to manufacture fixtures and assembly aids
·  Work with internal and external construction trades contractors for installation of utilities (electric, compressed air, data, etc.) for tools and equipment
·  Work with internally developed tool request system to provide status of tool development process
·  Participate in product-change and industrial projects to support needs of tooling and equipment
·  Support maintenance team in development of technical solutions to problems with existing equipment
·  Work with maintenance team in the development of tooling and equipment standards to ensure new equipment design incorporates best practices from previous implementations and input from AB Volvo global experts
·  Promotes manufacturing safety and efficiency through implementation of method/process change, ergonomic application and safety awareness
·  Facilitate/Participate in detailed design reviews of new tooling and equipment Specific software knowledge requirements include:
·  Experience in Catia/Creo/AutoCAD/Sketchup software
·  Knowledge of 2D/3D drawing
·  Knowledge of Mechanical design and engineering
·  Knowledge of ENOVIA/PDMLink software Critical Competencies:
·  Problem Solving/Decision Making: Taking a well-ordered approach to solving problems and acting despite obstacles, resistance or ambiguity
·  Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to manage change.
·  Excellent computer skills; proficient in Excel, Power Point and Word
·  Extensive knowledge of engineering concepts, manufacturing, the product, production standards and efficiency optimization tools; process oriented
·  Proven ability to react to issues affecting production with a sense of urgency, promptly assessing the issue, developing a feasible action plan, and following it through to successful completion
·  Project management skills
·  Experience in a team-based environment
·  Excellent verbal and written communication skills
·  Proven ability to review and apply technical specifications and requirements to the assembly operation
·  Possesses strong analytical skills and demonstrated focus on process and Lean Manufacturing concepts Minimum Education and Experience:
·  Bachelor degree in Engineering or equivalent experience required.
·  Two to four years of relevant experience required.
