Job description
Business context:
We are looking for a self confident R&D packaging expert who will play a strong role in driving the RUB Dressings agenda forward. The job holder will work closely with internal Unilever functions (R&D, Marketing, Supply Management and Supply Chain) and external suppliers to cover all aspects of the development and deployment within RUB Dressings.
This role provides the opportunity to manage innovation , to deepen packaging knowledge (Technologies, specifications, product-pack.-mach. interactions) , and to work in a diverse and fast moving environment.
Main Accountabilities :
• Delivers packaging innovation and saving projects OTIF for responsible categories
• Involvement and leadership of complexity reduction initiatives, including providing regional updates
• Close collaboration with Marketing, Procurement and Supply Chain departments
• Leading packaging development projects and also taking overall TPL responsibilities where applicable
• Idea generation for savings and GM improvement
• Close working with RDC/ GDC
• Leading secondary and tertiary packaging development
• Building and maintaining relations with existing & new suppliers and developing them
• Following, inspecting and evaluating consumers, customers, new packaging technologies and competitors in the market
• Briefing related teams to deliver packaging specifications appropriate to brand positioning, Supply Chain and supplier limitations in the local market
• Supporting related company functions to solve packaging related Supply Chain manufacturing issues, Quality issues and Consumer Complaints
• Leading execution of tests & trials at laboratory, pilot plant or full factory scale and reporting of test & trial outcomes
• Contributing to risk assessment and executing risk management plans for projects
• Competitor benchmarking
•Leading specifications management for packaging projects and general portfolio of RUB Dressings in Teamcenter
•Leading promotion, AW change, copack projects where necessary
Job requirements:
• Expected to work in multi-functional teams
• Expected to work with cross categories, cross global teams and cross countries
•Travelling abroad for regional visits/trainings if necessary
•Job holder is expected to play a strong role in driving the R&D Foods teambuilding agenda
The candidates should possess:
Key Skills
• University degree in engineering ; preferrably mechanical, foods or chemical engineering background (Master of Packaging Engineering /Packaging Technology is a plus)
• Minimum 3 years experience in Supply Chain packaging filling lines / Quality Assurance in packaging / R&D packaging development department
• Fluency of English
• Very good knowledge of MS Office
• Experience and knowledge of 2D and 3D visualization software packages
• Experience and knowledge in packaging testings and packaging validation in FMCG
