YOUR PURPOSE

 

The Senior Lighting Artist will work in a cooperative, international, cross-disciplinary team environment - possessing solid artistic skills, including an excellent understanding of color theory, composition, light, and form. They should have a passion for making games, strong technical understanding, and a focus on realistic lighting. Additionally, our ideal candidate would also show examples of environmental and cinematic lighting they have done for other AAA titles.

 

Responsibilities

 

·  Produce high quality lighting for environments and cut scenes based on art direction and creative leadership.
·  Work closely with fellow artists, programmers, cinematic designers, and sound designers.
·  Handle post processing topics such as color grading, exposure, SSAO, bloom, tone mapping curves etc.
·  Contribute to the development and placement of special effects related to lighting and atmosphere, such as light flares, fog, god rays and camera optics.
·  Prototyping the use of lighting technology to reach the visual targets defined by art direction.
·  Profile existing and future levels to maximize the quality of lighting on characters and environments while staying within performance budgets.
·  Maintain efficient organizational structure for all lighting assets.
·  Initiate and participate in knowledge sharing, problem solving, and technology research with other teams within and/or across projects.
·  Demonstrate a high level of creativity and independence.

·  Proactively identify and communicate potential production concerns to stakeholders while showing maturity in conflict resolution.
·  Maintain a professional and healthy relationship with all team members.
·  Show exemplary commitment, even in critical situations

WHAT YOU BRING

 

·  Strong experience in Lighting operating at senior level.
·  Nice to have experience in AAA game development.
·  Strong understanding of lighting fundamentals.
·  You have excellent knowledge of color theory, composition, light, and form.
·  Experience with PBR & HDR rendering.
·  Photoshop experience.
·  You are able to solve technical problems and improve performance, develop new tools and workflows alongside engineers.
·  Must be autonomous and work well in a large team environment.
·  Good English communication and writing skills.
