WORKPLACE PLANNER

Job Summary

Supporting the Manager of Workplace Services, the Workplace Project Planner will be responsible for delivering effective workplace change projects for TJX’s Home Office Facilities.  

Duties and Responsibility

Plans, programs, and supports Workplace Services (WPS) change projects by providing expertise in the support of office space planning scenarios and other options to determine renovations on the Massachusetts campus and other regions as assigned.  Responsible for pre-development and fulfillment of home office interior renovation.  Partners with other members of the Design and Planning Staff as well as with the WPS Maintenance staff, construction staff, IT personnel and other Home Office teams to ensure workplace projects are planned and delivered on time and within expectations.  Supports facility projects of all sizes, construction and maintenance plans and other special projects as required.  Partners with the AVP/Director and Manager of Workplace Services to prepare, and manage project estimates and budgets for assigned projects.  Assists in tracking and monitoring of the expenses on all assigned projects.  Provides support to manage the various service contracts required for the vendors and trades involved in the change process.

·  Works with internal representatives to plan and deliver small to large workplace move and change projects
·  Develops comprehensive project plans with tasks, milestones, timelines and post move metrics
·  Oversees all aspects of move and change projects to ensure timelines are met including directing the work of others, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring and summarizing the progress of the projects, including the direct oversight and management of furniture installers, movers and other various trades during the change process
·  Manages project implementation activities
·  Uses knowledge of modular furniture and architectural projects to plan all projects
·  Coordinates with internal clients, third parties, IT and facility leaders, and facilitates the decision-making, approval and communication process between the department and occupants
·  Preparation and execution of logistical plans for moves, including accurate and detailed project budgets and expense tracking
·  Prepares and distributes project schedules for all projects in the pipeline
·  Completes space, storage, furniture and other facility audits
·  Special projects as assigned

Requirements

·  5+ years of workplace planning experience or related experience in a large commercial environment
·  Bachelor’s Degree
·  Proficiency with AutoCAD
·  Experience with integrated workplace management systems (IWMS); knowledge of FM:Systems preferred
·  Solid understanding of building systems (MEP/FP)
·  Extensive use of modular office design concepts
·  Excellent verbal and written skills including the ability to communicate intelligently and effectively with vendors, architects, engineers and contractors performing work in our buildings
·  Ability to provide focus and oversight to appointed project teams
·  Ability to multitask, while being detailed oriented and enthusiastic
·  Ability to design and implement detailed projects in a fast paced environment
