Job Summary

 

The Junior HR Business Partner (JHRBP) partners closely with business leaders and line managers to proactively drive the business priorities in their respective area. The JHRBP builds leadership capabilities to deliver the people plan, drives the talent agenda and champions the unique Off-Price culture at TJX.

Key Responsibilities

  • Builds trusted and effective business partnering relationships with leaders across the business areas and within the HR team.
  • Provides coaching and guidance to leaders and acts as sounding board on all matters relating to the people agenda.
  • Aligns with other HRBP’s and Centre’s of expertise to provide effective HR solutions to the business, continually reviewing our policies and processes and ways of working to ensure consistent and inclusive culture.
  • Drives fairness and consistency in performance management to increase individual and business performance.
  • Has a solid knowledge of employment law and HR procedures to make sure the business is compliant, safe, and legal and has experience of being able to navigate complex ER cases.
  • Balances priorities and project work with the emerging and immediate needs of the business and in line with strategy
  • Demonstrates curiosity and understands the vision and strategy for talent, and is a key partner for leaders, apply influencing skills to drive the talent agenda within the business area .
  • Can manage change processes effectively to enable continual transformation for an optimal organisation; from organisational design to implementation and embedding changes within the function.
  • Be an ambassador for our commitment in ensuring all associates feel welcomed, valued, and engaged.
  • Be an ambassador for our unique off-price culture.
  • Be an advocate and role model the Leadership Competencies and Cultural Factors

 

Desired Skills, Knowledge & Experience

 

  • Previous experience of working as a HR generalist, ideally gained from within a large-scale Distribution or Retail setting (or similar) organisation.
  • Excellent influencing, relationship building and communication skills.
  • Proven track record of working effectively with multiple level stakeholders requiring an autonomous, decision-making approach.
  • Can demonstrate curiosity and uses a coaching style to challenge their partners to think differently and seek new perspectives and move beyond obstacles.
  • Thinks broadly and can consider all implications of actions across the business function, demonstrating high levels of resilience and emotional intelligence.
  • Is practised and experienced in all matters relating to employee relations.
  • Has strong commercial acumen
  • Are valued for their approach to look for possibilities, seek opportunities and drive execution.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects at the same time, with exacting timelines, and where high levels of accuracy are paramount.
  • Proven change leadership ability, creating meaning for others and being comfortable in proposing innovative and transformative approaches to problem solving.
  • Has the ability to take initiative and work without supervision is essential, prioritising own workload and self-efficient, results orientated
  • Well-developed IT skills with experience of using an HR Information System (e.g. Oracle, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • CIPD qualified is preferred but not essential.
