We are currently seeking a Mechanical Product Designer to join our Product Design Team based in our Burnaby, BC location. The primary focus of this position is to design electro-mechanical products for commercial and residential markets. The role requires an engineer to design for high quality, manufacturability, serviceability and cost effectiveness.

We are seeking a person who is positive, self-motivated and enjoys a collaborative design team.

Responsibilities:

· Create and modify mechanical designs and drawings in Solidworks
· Conceptualize product concepts based on market requirements
· Support design throughout the engineering process from initial concept to final production release
· Validate mechanical components, analyze data, and write test reports
· Estimate personal design timelines and provide feedback to project schedules
· Use engineering principles to analyze designs for structural integrity, manufacturability, and serviceability

Desired profile



Qualifications :

Education & Experience:
• Undergraduate degree in Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering
• Relevant work experience in product design.

Primary Qualifications:
Experience & knowledge of:
• CAD modeling and drawings in Solidworks within a team environment
• Mechanical design of sheet metal parts, injection molded parts, and machined parts
• Minimum constraint design, tolerance stack-up analysis, and GD&T
• Design for manufacturability, serviceability, reliability, quality and cost
• Product design processes (ECOs, BOM creation)

Desired Qualifications:
Experience & knowledge of:
• Structural FEA
• Experience in high volume product design
