Sr Domain Architect - ITS GRA, Bridgewater, NJ

JOB SUMMARY

This role will be a senior member of the ITS GRA team.  The person in this position will play a hands-on architect and leadership role to develop/enhance our GRA technology strategy and architecture solutions consistent to the overall GRA/ITS strategy and roadmap. This resource will be accountable to ensure all internal/external developed solutions stay consistent and integrated to Sanofi’s strategies and internal standards where appropriate.  The resource will also play a critical part in staying knowledgeable about external ITS capabilities and how they can be leveraged for GRA to deliver value. 

This role will closely work with Global Regulatory Affairs (GRA) business leaders, ITS stakeholders, and ITS Tech (including ITS Enterprise Architects) to develop business cases and identify potential digital technologies that could support GRA business capabilities and their digital transformations.   In addition, this resource will work with project teams to ensure the implementation of technical capabilities are designed and implemented according to the architectural designs, standards, and relevant technical requirements.

This resource will also lead and contribute to ITS GRA service operation improvements related to having relavant technical architecture documentation for troubleshooting, business continuity and ongoing compliance in a highly regulated environment. 

The position will report directly to the Head of ITS, GRA and be a member of the ITS GRA Leadership team.

Knowledge And Skills:

·  Have an extensive experience in developing IT architectural plans and designing solutions.
·  Have a solid understanding, in general, of information technology principles, its solution design, and its application to the pharmaceutical industry, preferably in the R&D/Global Regulatory Affairs domain.
·  Demonstrate excellent knowledge of business processes, business acumen, and related data within the pharmaceutical industry, preferably in the R&D/Global Regulatory Affairs domain.
·  Demonstrate excellent skills of translating business requirements into workable, fit for purpose, technical designs and solutions. Have extensive experience on technical solution identification and rationalization.
·  Demonstrate excellent adaptability to a changing and highly dynamic work environment
·  Strong relationship management skills in working with business colleagues, IT stakeholders, and vendors
·  Strong ability to lead and/or influence decision making
·  Resolve conflicts with tact and diplomacy
·  Ability to communicate clearly and effectively as either a team leader or a team player. Fluent in English, both orally and in writing. Other language skills is a plus
·  Ability to work autonomously and work effectively with global teams to get the job done

Formal Education And Experience Required:

·  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related scientific or technical disciplines. Advanced degree is preferred. Additional professional certificate is a plus
·  10+ years IT domain experience in pharmaceutical industry is required including extensive working experience in R&D area (4+ years).   Experience in Regulatory Affairs domain is strongly preferred.
·  Strong technical/solution architecture expertise, IT leadership, partnership with business leaders/stakeholders, and clear and effective communication skills must be demonstrated.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·  Develop/Enhance GRA technical strategy and ensure alignment to overall GRA/ITS strategy.  Be a champion for helping Sanofi achieve it’s digital aspirations.  Ensure solutions developed are enabling our vision of the future.  Be aware of market/industry trends and help apply them as relevant to solving our real world challenges.
·  As a senior ITS GRA team member, ensure the global end-to-end consistency of the ITS GRA architecture solutions and services. Work as an adviser/leader/key contributor over the different phases of the IT life cycle: scoping, analysis, technical design, validation, change management, and service operations.  Ensure alignment to ITS GRA, and ITS Enterprise Architecture standards and/or recommend changes as needed.  Represent ITS GRA on a cross ITS R&D Architecture committee.
·  Support the development of business cases that require technical solutioning and alignment to current/future ITS GRA capabilities.
·  Drive ongoing continuous improvement for resource efficiencies and cost reduction through the creation of fit for purpose solutions.
·  Create/enforce technical standards, processes and guidelines for teams to follow related to the implementation and support of ITS GRA capabilities.  Provide/develop training as needed for internal/external resources to use.

·  Other ITS LTs, Enterprise Architects, ITS service teams, ITS Business Partners, ITS Quality, Security, and Procurement.

·  Other business teams such as IA, Clinical, GPV, Commercial, and Medical

·  Suppliers / Service Providers (e.g. Veeva, Parexel, Accenture, Cognizant)
