Job Description
Based in Gloucester, Safran UK now have an opening for a Lead International Mobility, Tax & Reward Manager. In this role, you will provide support for Safran sites across the UK. The primary focus will be managing UK outbound/inbound assignments and frontier workers across the entire mobility function of HR, tax, social security and immigration.
The secondary focus is the provision of employment tax advice for benefits across the UK and payroll reporting support to business units from a tax and NIC perspective where required.
Responsibilities & Duties;
Support the development and continuous improvement of Safran's International Mobility (IM) program by working together with Group & UK stakeholders to review & improve existing IM policies and processes
Provide mobility and tax related expertise and advisory support to UK sites to facilitate their use of IM policies and procedures during both planning process and assignment period
Provide ad-hoc support as a specialist for employment taxes to ensure Safran are compliant with the relevant UK legislation
Manage and coordinate day-to-day operations and relationships with internal HR teams and assignees for the end to end assignment period
Advise HR teams on immigration, tax and social security regulations with respect to IM assignments
Track global headcount of inbound and outbound assignees, as informed by Safran UK sites
Management of ad-hoc International Mobility projects for continuous improvement or adaptation of processes, as instructed by Safran SA, the UK HR country leader or in response to UK government updates
Responsible for people management of the International Mobility Assistant, including absence, performance management and recruitment
Oversee vendor management for external international mobility services, including relocation, immigration and tax providers and maintain strong relationships to ensure quality of services delivered to Safran
Keep technical knowledge up to date and analyse impacts to Safran's policies and procedures
Oversee work duties by International Mobility Assistant and manage their performance
Employee Experience;
Primary point of contact for senior employees relocating to/from the UK under international mobility programmes, leading pre-assignment briefing with package presentation
Oversee UK immigration process for inbounds assignments to the UK and initiation of relocation services
Payroll and Tax;
Oversee monthly payroll instructions relating to IM employees at each UK site
Advisory support to UK businesses in relation to employee share schemes, including support on payroll reporting and employee queries
Advisory support for LTI share plan awarded to senior executive compensation and benefit programs, as instructed by Safran SA
Advisory support to UK businesses in relation to complex HMRC correspondence and enquiries covering employment tax, PAYE and National Insurance as requested by Business Unit
Complementary Description
Business Support;
Analyse mobility proposals to make recommendations, including due diligences reviews on tax, immigration and social security. This may also include costs estimates
Collaborate with wider IM team in other countries within Safran to ensure smooth management of international assignments
Maintain template UK contractual terms and conditions for international assignments
Documenting processes and issuing guidance documents to facilitate compliance at local Business Unit with tax and immigration areas
Govern current UK specific international mobility policies ensuring best practice is operates, including short-term assignments and international transfers to the UK from Safran Group
Job Requirements
General experience of managing expatriates, formal mobility secondments and frontier workers
Expatriate tax experience from an employer perspective with ATT or CTA qualification
Experience of managing or overseeing UK immigration applications
Experience of vendor management or client facing experience with proven relationship building skills
People management skills as line manager
Cross-functional skills/personal attributes
Strong communications skills across a range of levels up to senior management and across departments
Strong organisational skills due to requirement to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, with different stakeholders (HR & business functions) and the ability to prioritise is key.
Proven ability to work analytically in a problem-solving environment with attention to detail
Strong leadership and influential skills to manage change in legislation and processes effectively
An ability to maintain confidentiality and act with discretion and diplomacy is crucial
French language – desirable but not essential

Specificity of the job
