The Summer @ Roche Intern Program has been developed to provide students with a fun yet rewarding summer through hands-on experience and numerous opportunities to network with other interns as well as employees in the organization. Additionally, we help our students meet their career development and educational goals while potentially building a future with the Roche organization. Program Requirements:

· 
Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university during program calendar year 2021.

· 
Completed at least 2 years of college/university to be eligible for the program.

· 
Must have a ≥3.0 GPA; please attach a copy of your transcript in order to be considered for this internship opportunity.

· 
Minimum availability of 12 weeks (Required start on or before program Welcome Reception and end date on or after Summer End Poster Symposium).

· 
Previous experience in the job duties listed, either through course work or industry/academia.

· 
Participation in student organizations and/or other leadership experience.

Roche Sequencing Solutions is a fast-moving, highly interdisciplinary, and technical team of people with the ambitious goal of disrupting Next Generation DNA Sequencing. Our technology fuses active biological and solid-state elements to bring single molecule-based sequence detection to scale. Developing this unique platform requires expertise across a range of fields: Software Engineering, Data Science, Information Theory, Biophysics, Biology, Chemistry, Protein Engineering, Digital and Analog Circuit Design, and Electrochemistry, just to name a few.

As a Software Developer in Test Intern, you will have the opportunity to work with the family of the applications that drive the Sequencing Workflow and take part in the design, build, test, and deployment of Healthcare technology applications. You will be embedded in the Software Verification and Validation department, which is responsible for ensuring that product deliverables meet customer, business, and product requirements, verifying and validating product toward market release into regulated environments.

Responsibilities:

· 
Developing automated acceptance criteria as well as positive, negative, and boundary test scenarios among others to facilitate verification of requirements.

· 
Enhancing test automation frameworks in support automated acceptance criteria and test scenarios for front-end (web/touch-UI) and backend (API).

· 
Integrating automated tests into automated pipelines for regular and on-demand regression testing.

· 
Performing investigation and root cause analysis of test failures and reporting product defects.

· 
Extending dashboards and solutions for quality metrics reporting.

Qualifications:

· 
Enrolled in a Bachelor or Master's program for Computer Science or related field of Engineering.

· 
Experienced in programming using a variety of languages and specifically Java, TypeScript, and JavaScript.

· 
Familiar with software design and architecture including front-end and backend technologies.

· 
Excellent in verbal and written communication along with sound analytical skills.

What you will learn:

· 
You will collaborate with and be mentored by cross-functional team members from requirements engineering, software development, and quality assurance.

· 
You will gain hand-on experience with automation and corresponding languages and frameworks including Java, JDI, Selenium, and WebDriver.

· 
You will work on Continuous Integration and Delivery systems to realize Development Operations (DevOps) practices including Jenkins and GitHub.

· 
You will acquire applied knowledge of Behavior-Driven Development using Cucumber and Gherkin.

· 
You will be immersed in an Agile team environment following the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and complementary practices.

Given the current uncertainty of the global pandemic and work from home situation for 2021, the majority of internships are currently planned to be virtual with the option for interns to work remotely from within U.S. borders. Internships that operate in business critical roles, such as Operations and Research & Development may require you to work on campus.We will keep candidates informed if this changes.
