Who we are:

We are shaping the digitalization of Pharma Research and Early Development at Roche. Within Large Molecule Research we are driving the digital transformation. The coordination of the needs, requirements and digital initiatives is a central asset to support drug discovery and development with informatics solutions for data capturing, integration, analysis and visualization. In close partnership with scientists and research informatics we bridge between the business &, science and the digital technologies and applications.

We support and direct the planning and coordination of digital platforms and features, which includes digital analytics and reporting. Evaluation and implementation of tools and services are used to increase efficiency and to enable better decision making in biologics research.

Your team:

You will be leading project teams within a cross-functional matrix of digital interested scientists & lab co-workers and experienced people.

Your contribution to our success:

·  You will be a thoughtful leader and a key contributor to our strategic initiative on digitalisation of research, with a focus on automating laboratory processes and decision making by applying advanced instrument and data exchange tools, as well as Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) methods.
·  You will establish and nurture effective partnerships with scientists, internal IT specialists and software companies to assess existing processes and workflows for automation opportunities, and for recognizing areas suitable for AI/ML approaches.
·  You will propose and prototype appropriate informatics solutions and validate scientific models, e.g. for lab automation.
·  You will collaborate with technical and informatics teams to find and introduce the solutions to optimally support complex research activities.

Your profile:

·  You have a systematic approach to problem solving and very good data management, visualization and analysis skills.
·  You are inspired by curiosity, strive for results and love to see your ideas implemented in the exciting field between science, lab and informatics.

Your qualifications:

·  University degree, preferably a PhD, in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Biology, Biochemistry, or Engineering,
·  Several years of professional experience in life science or research informatics
·  Broad knowledge of methods/ software tools/ databases for pharmaceutical/ biologics research, programming and scripting languages
·  Basic knowledge of pharmaceutical research
·  Very good communication and presentation skills in English and good knowledge of German
