Description

This Olay Research & Development Packaging role encompasses end to end development and delivery of packaging projects for the Olay Skin Care brand. The work includes product innovation, upstream design and package technology development, delivering supply assurance, packaging savings, and quality improvements across the packaging portfolio. Olay is a Billion Dollar brand that is currently growing behind investment in total product (package + formula) positions. In addition, the team is working against ambitious sustainability goals to develop and deliver premium skin care packages that are recyclable/reusable/better for the world. It is a highly integrative role, in which you identify and solve concurrently the needs of the consumer, the customer, manufacturing, concept, formula, sustainability, and financials. The packages and the packaging organization are critical to creating compelling holistic propositions that delight the consumer and deliver the business objectives.

Qualifications

If you want to join us, you will need:

A BS or MS in engineering. We prefer Chemical, Mechanical, Packaging or Material Science.

We are also looking for someone who has:

· 
Prior Packaging Expertise. Particular skills of interest are Injection Molding, Blow Molding, Decoration Technology, Glass Molding/Manufacturing

· 
Sustainability/Recyclability Ecosystem experience

· 
Technical Mastery and Aptitude

· 
Technical Project Management, including defining technical learning plans

· 
Ability to work in small cross-functional teams and independently

· 
Strong interpersonal skills, including active listening

· 
Critical thinking, active listening and strong written and verbal communication skills

· 
The ability to learn quickly in a dynamic environment

Key Job Qualifications:

·  Technical Mastery and Aptitude - Skin Care packaging covers multiple package technologies that are used across many different formula chassis and consumer experiences/expectations. Technical aptitude to learn quickly and reapply learning is critical, as is strong problem solving, including a passion & skill for first principles understanding. Candidates should preferably have existing expertise either in packaging.
·  Collaboration - Must have track record of productive collaboration with both multi-functional internal and external (suppliers, plants, etc.) partners. Strong personal ownership combined with the ability to partner with others to bring programs & breakthroughs to life.
·  Communication - Strong verbal and written communication skills are required. Ability to share project updates, write learning plans and summaries, key learning's and recommendations, and influence decisions needed by team/management.
·  Passionate Ownership - Packaging is an exciting and challenging field, given its intersection with the deliverable of almost every P&G function and its usual role in the critical path schedule of projects. Candidates who thrive in packaging have a strong sense of ownership, including attention to detail and a strong sense of accountability for timely and quality execution.
