about the role

Network Design:

Responsible for the design and the evolution / optimization of different OBS networks (IGN, AGN, Voice) in a given region focused on QOS, Supportablity & Financial Benefits. The role is to specify different network projects coming from Cluster regions or from Central entity, in a way they could be easily implementable in a timely manner by the Network Service Implementation team.

Capacity management for backbone network resources, including hardware platforms, bandwidth, colocation space, and service platforms; thus to insure that our networks are optimized and always provide good Quality of Services at the lowest costs.

Identify and trigger the necessary projects concerning the optimization of the network topology for routing / quality of services optimization in his/her region.

Carrier Services: Validate new carrier services for those services delegated to the region.  Engage central teams for validation of services not delegated to the region; also establish a strong relationship with technical teams of our key telco partners.

Pre-sales Validation: Review non-standard pre-sales bids and determine whether network upgrades are required and the cost of those upgrades. Engage central teams as required. Also insure our PoP information is up to date with the correct presales thresholds to minimize the number of validations required while not risking QOS on the network.

Maintain excellent collaborative working environment and provide Technical Consultancy & Support for Regional Clusters, Network and Service Implementation, Network Configuration & Change Management, and other regional teams such as Sourcing, CS&O and Presales Consultants.

Be able to react quickly for correcting design issues resulting in performance degradation.

Follow the processes, methods and tools defined in the NSP team to maintain consistency of network design across the others regions. Support others team members and contribute to the development of key technical expertise and skills in the NSP team.

Give regular reporting or progress reports on your different activities.

about you

Master’s Degree in Telecommunications or Computer Science plus strong and proven experience in telecommunications and network build.

In depth knowledge of CISCO / Juniper technology and routing protocols with a proven expertise in IP architecture (equivalent to CCNA certifications is required at minimum).  Other expertise in other technologies used within Orange Business Services, such as: Metro Ethernet, dial, voice, DSL access, etc, would be also preferred.

Good knowledge of transmission technologies and networking concepts

Excellent communications and Interpersonal skills

Flexible, self-motivated and able to work under pressure with the ability to take initiatives

Fluent in English, both written and spoken. French or another language is a plus

base salary from 1,400 € brutto per month, actual salary is likely to be higher based on skills, knowledge and experience
