Finance Team Leader

Job description

MSX are currently seeking a Finance Team Leader to work closely with the UK Controller and will be responsible for management of the Colchester finance team of three as part of a large UK team, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of month end reporting and preparation of the monthly management accounts. 

The Finance Team Leader will be working as part of a finance team of eight reporting to the UK Controller.

Your responsibilities:
* Review control accounts and the AP and AR and suggest actions.
* Review and reconciliation payroll, liaison with HR department.
* Reconciliation of inter-company accounts; calculation, posting of exchange differences.
* Adherence to monthly reporting timetables; allowing prompt close of the month end following routines.
* Assistance to staff with items on the task list on the timetable if required.
* Integrity of the general ledger; all monthly balance sheet reconciliations for relevant companies.
* Cashflow forecast monitoring: review of history and adjustment of immediate and full year forecast, for FC review.
* Analytical review of monthly results. Investigation of variances, understanding of trends.
* Various analysis for the finance controller and for division managers.
* Involvement in continuous improvement projects, review of process to improve company and department efficiency.
* Insurance, UK renewal, admin and liaise with brokers various markets.
* Year-end statutory audit preparation and delivery.
* National statistic reports completion and submission.
* Coaching and guiding of finance staff.


Your profile:
* Qualified, Part-qualified CIMA or ACCA, or QBE, with experience in financial accounting (or equivalent)
* Experience of working in a finance environment for a minimum of two years
* Full knowledge of accounting ledgers, cashflow forecasting, intercompany reconciliations and foreign currency
* Experience of investigation, reconciliation and maintenance of company balance sheets
* Experience with J D Edwards accounting systems would be preferable
* Experience of working to tight deadlines
* Strong grasp of accounting concepts and willingness to learn
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
* Ability to build good relationships, with both internal and external contacts
* Ability to work as part of a team and independently
* Good organizational and prioritizing skills
* Strong ability with MS Word, Excel (V lookups, pivot tables) and Outlook is required


Working pattern and location:
* 40 hours, Monday to Friday
The Octagon, Colchester, Essex
