Master Planner

Your role:

The Master Planner is responsible for overall planning activities within the Carlsbad, CA site by ensuring a robust demand planning process is in place which allows work to be scheduled in line with client’s expectations while achieving optimum use of staff, equipment and facilities, thereby maximizing capacity, productivity and efficiency. 

 

You will:

·  Design, implement and maintain a scheduling management process
·  Develop and implement a capacity model and use this tool to communicate capacity constraints to the Operations and Commercial teams
·  Develop excellent understanding of complex processes from beginning to end and all steps in detail in order to identify capacity constraints and drive process improvement effectively
·  Manage SAP planning programs and generate recommended plan changes
·  Evaluate, test, recommend and implement changes that could improve service, project timelines, throughput efficiency, inventory levels, etc
·  Identify scheduling constraints and test various methods and strategies in order to reduce or eliminate those constraints
·  Monitor process turn-around times and escalate any capacity issues which may occur to the Senior Management team in a timely manner
·  Organize activities to make sure resources are used efficiently and effectively to achieve organizational goals
·  Collate capacity metric results and review sales forecasts on a frequent basis in order to issue reports to key stakeholders within the business
·  Develop SAP generated reports various performance measures to identify opportunities for refinement of strategies, process improvement, and manufacturing
·  Analyzes reports and participate in projects to eliminate backlogs, optimize timelines, and increase customer service.
·  Actively develop and build a collaborative team through regular communication and feedback, within the Business Development, Project Management, Materials Management, Quality Assurance, QC, and Manufacturing functions
·  Interact with Managers, Supervisors and staff to improve scheduling, capacity, and forecasting processes
·  Work with global planning teams as needed to ensure planning designs and requirements are coordinated and consistent

 

Who you are:

Basic Qualifications:

·  Bachelor’s degree or above in a related discipline (e.g. Science or Business) or equivalent experience as a Planner/Scheduler
·  Minimum of 5 years capacity planning experience (in the service industry preferred)
·  Planner/scheduler with experience of working in a heavily regulated industry (e.g. Pharma, Medical Devices, Hi-Tech) is desirable.
·  APICS, CSCP, or CPIM qualification highly preferred
·  Proven track record in the translation of forecast data to demand and capacity modeling.
·  Aware of the principles of lean processes (Lean Six Sigma trained or equivalent type of process analysis).
·  SAP experience is preferred

 

Preferred Qualifications:  

·  Ability to effectively prioritize ensuring that deadlines are met at all times
·  Ability to manage time effectively
·  Can use process improvement to get make processes and resources scalable                                                                             
·  Computer literacy (Microsoft packages, ERP)
·  Advanced Excel skills e.g. formulas, look-up and pivot tables
