Laboratory Assistant Microbiology

Your role:  working within the Microbiology department, our Laboratory Assistant performs a wide variety of routine tasks to support GLP/GMP laboratories. Duties of the role include stock control andEnvironmental monitoring;working within the laboratory following Standard Operating Procedures and relevant compliance regulations, to ensure laboratories and equipment are maintained and monitored to the required housekeeping standards; that reagents are prepared as required.The ability to maintain effective working relationships with support services, scientists and laboratory personnel will be critical for success in the role.

 

  Who You Are: 

·  Educated to Standard Grade level or equivalent
·  Ideally with a qualification in biological sciences or related subject (e.g. HNC or equivalent)
·  Laboratory experience is not essential for this role but would be advantageous
·  Previous experience working in a regulated environment (GLP/GMP) would be advantageous
·  Experience of data entry, both paper and computer based, would be advantageous
·  Adheres to health and safety procedures and actively takes necessary action when encountering unsafe situations
·  You have good planning and organisational skills, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including being fully proficient in written and spoken English
·  You are self-motivated with strong initiative and drive, enjoys working hard and full of energy for the things you see challenging
