Founder Smart Horticulture (all genders)

Your role:  We are looking for a Founder / Technology Lead Smart Horticulture for our growing innovation project that is incubated in a start-up atmosphere at our Innovation Center in Darmstadt. You are responsible for masterminding and growing a new business together with a commercial Co-Founder. You are leading a global R&D team in material development and plant application testing. You identify target applications, lead product development, coordinate product scale up, give directions for portfolio extensions, drive the development of our IP basis, and guide discussions with collaboration partners. You present the project internally and externally and are committed and skilled to transform great technology into commercial success.

 

Who you are:

·  Master or PhD degree in agriculture, life or natural sciences with specialization in plant physiology. Understanding the effect of light climate on plant development is a plus
·  7+ years work experience in horticulture industry; familiar with growth trends such as smart greenhouses, digital technology in farming, plant factories, and vertical farming
·  Track record in building and leading high performing R&D teams. Hands-on work ethics and can-do mentality
·  Strategic thinker with an innovative mindset and capability for fast execution
·  Flexible and willing to travel internationally (about 30% of time)
