Sr. Site Project Engineer, Control Systems - Gainesville, GA

The Sr. Site Project Engineer – Control Systems is a primary resource for technical project management and is involved in 75% of all projects executed at the site. Their overall role is to identify and lead / manage projects to meet business needs to improve efficiency, reduce costs and deliver new innovations to the market. Project examples range from new dust control systems to new pumping and mixing systems to high speed packing equipment and robotics to conveying systems to palletizing to new manufacturing lines and facility improvements. Responsibilities range from leading the control systems scope for a project, consulting on electrical/controls on other projects, or leading/managing the entire project from start to finish.

What are we looking for?

·  Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required while a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical is preferred.
·  Four (4)+ years of engineering or experience in a comparable technical position in a manufacturing environment with experience in project execution and/or manufacturing leadership is preferred.
·  Ability to architect manufacturing control systems. Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Iconics and/or other major control systems technologies preferred.
·  Strong knowledge of control systems used in high speed manufacturing systems.
·  Action oriented, results driven, collaborator and a strong leader
·  Experience leading a workstream of a large project: installation of a process system or packing line from concept through start-up. Experience using project management systems to manage and execute capital projects to install new equipment (project costs over $500,000) is preferred
·  Experience working in an environment focused on TPM or IWS systems

What would be your key responsibilities?

·  Deliver projects to meet business needs focused on the Gainesville, GA plant to reduce costs, improve efficiency, increase capacity and/or to deliver new innovations.
·  Projects include new packing equipment, new processing systems or equipment, improvements to packing and process equipment and dust/powder handling.
·  Provide controls and electrical technical leadership on projects and set direction for site control systems technologies. Own the control system portions of projects led by others from concept through integration and start-up. High levels of collaboration are required.
·  Develop a site power and control systems masterplan to set control systems standards, migration plans and management of new technologies across the site. Coordinate with regional resources as well as training the site controls technicians on the masterplan.
