***This role will be based out of Newark NJ indefinitely come first half of 2020. In the interim, this role will be based in Hackettstown, NJ***

The Role:

Primary objective is to develop and implement segment supply strategy for the Mars Wrigley Confectionary Business under the direction of the Industrial Engineering (IE) Director to deliver growth by driving overall excellence in customer service and value within the product segment. The position will identify and evaluate financial opportunities and recommend solutions that will drive overall pipeline effectiveness and continuous improvement. The position will also drive timely implementation of these and other initiatives at plants and across segment production lines.

The jobholder acts with high level of standing alone, within the global and regional standard guidelines and OGSM/FAB. Strong knowledge expertise in the area of Industrial Engineering is an essential pre-requisite. There are interfaces with regional Supply leadership, Business leadership, Plant Directors, the global team, Site IEs, the regional Activity Manager and with other central departments.

Key Responsibilities:

Innovation Management

·  Represent supply for the relevant platforms and brands
·  Develop, evaluate and recommend optimal supply solutions for new market activities affecting the segment, in close cooperation with the segment support IE’s and site IE’s.
·  Represent supply in the relevant key innovation platforms through AB/IR gate. Ensure smooth transition to designated production site.

Capital Management

·  Author, submit and gain approval for capital investment projects related to capacity and/or innovation activities
·  Review and approve capital investment projects for the relevant platform prior to capital governance
·  Lead site Master Plan ‘Mobilize’ and ‘Create’ activities

Supply Strategy

·  Develop and align stakeholders on the long term segment supply strategy in-line with business targets. This includes:
·  A long term overview on the segment’s cost competitiveness; analysis of the impact of initiatives such as Value Leadership, asset additions/refurbishment, stock, etc.
·  A view on customer responsiveness of the network and roadmap for improvements where needed.
·  A recommendation on prioritization of asset refurbishment program within the network (following site AHC analysis).
·  Develop and implement the sourcing strategy for the segment, including the make or buy decisions and ability to manage production between sites.
·  Lead the 5yr capacity analysis to secure long term product supply through appropriate levels of utilization.
·  Partner with the Global IE and Global supply team to build regional sourcing strategy that optimizes America’s supply network; maintain strong links with Regional IE teams to develop cross-regional sourcing solutions.
·  Influence the development of global standards (engineering and operational) for the segment.

Tactical Supply Execution

·  Maintain tight and timely communication links to and from the plants
·  Monitor performance and execution of approved activities
·  Recommend and implement tools to monitor and optimize supply performance
·  Maintain accurate catalogue of process, product and packaging capabilities relevant to leveraging existing platforms for growth
·  Identify and recommend methods to alleviate constraints on equipment and output
·  Provide Project Engineers with target line metrics for capital installations
·  Assist plants in developing and monitoring project startup curves
·  Provide input to Regional and Global Reports
·  In conjunction with Finance and Procurement, identify and contribute to the execution of COGS activities

Supply & Technical Leadership

·  Through internal and external benchmarking, set operational and financial targets for the segment & review the performance against these
·  Provide leadership and technical knowledge transfer to relevant segment & site IEs

Minimum Requirements:

·  High School Diploma required
·  An undergraduate degree in Engineering, Business Management, or Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering required; or significant equivalent experience.
·  5+ years of related work experience (Operations Line Manager, Site Industrial Engineer, Project Engineer, Logistics Manager, Industrial Engineer, Supply Chain Management)
·  Ability to collaborate and work cross functionally with various internal/external partners and influence when needed
·  Comfort working with senior leaders.
·  Advanced command of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint presentation skills
·  Strong written, communication, listening, and influencing skills
·  Comfort around manipulating and working with large sets of data in order to tell a story about what the data says.
·  Ability to travel up to 20% of the time

Preferred Qualifications:

·  Advanced degree In Engineering or MBA preferred
·  6 to 8+ years of related work experience (Operations Line Manager, Site Industrial Engineer, Project Engineer, Logistics Manager, Industrial Engineer, Supply Chain Management)
·  General knowledge of engineering problem solving and process development methodologies
