Principal Accountabilities:

·  To ensure that the containers are correctly sealed according to all specifications.
·  To assure that the sanitation levels for the area meet standards.
·  To be able to efficiently operate all of the production equipment
·  To assist with testing of products in the area.
·  To ensure that product changeovers are efficient and properly completed.
·  To perform assigned preventative maintenance on all equipment.

Mission Critical Competencies:

·  Excellent overall equipment knowledge that enables the operator to fine-tune all of it to keep the line running.
·  The ability to anticipate the cause and effect of various situations that occur in the area.
·  Know the flexibility of the equipment well enough to be able to work around most problems that occur.

Key Functional Skills / Knowledge:

·  Know the expected quality levels and know when to raise an alarm for any quality issues.
·  Be able to troubleshoot the equipment without Maintenance assistance.
·  Be certified and competent on a forklift.
·  Be able to effectively us the Wonderware computer software system (Product ID and cook times).
·  The ability to properly complete Quality Assurance paperwork.
·  Able to decipher off oder or aroma of product flavours and colour variation in accordance with Mars quality specifications
·  The ability to arrange for a full trailer to be pulled from a loading door and replace with another trailer in a timely manner.
·  Able to relieve the operator
·  To help insure that new associates in the area receive proper skills and safety training.
·  Perform Quality Audits as required.
·  Able to complete all tasks in the area assigned by manager abiding by the Quality Practices and Mars Safety Practices.
·  Can perform the essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
·  Must be able to adapt to temperature and environmental extremes such as hot and cold, dust, dirt and chemicals.
·  Every associate at Mars has responsibility for the achievement of quality and food safety.

The primary qualifications of this position are:

·  Most recent Performance appraisal with a minimum of “Meets Expectations” and not more than 1 year old.
·  No active caution notices.
·  Acceptable attendance
·  Physical requirements: Standing, climbing, reaching, lifting, walking, bending, stooping, repetitive hand & wrist usage, twisting.
·  A current certification to operate a forklift or the ability to certify prior to start-up.
