Activity Coordinator

Purpose of Role : The Activity Coordinator provides leadership to develop, document, maintain and proactively improve site management programs, methods, and systems to assure product, processes, and environments conform to the established Mars and regulatory Quality and Food Safety standards. The position manages daily KPI data and actively participates in the FMOS process. The Activity Coordinator actively manages the site’s training program for both Safety and Food Safety. Additionally, the Activity Coordinator participates in the site’s Internal Audit program, and problem-solving and assuring corrective actions are properly implemented and documented.

Principal Accountabilities:

·  This position provides support to both Quality and Supply as needed to ensure training program compliance for Food Safety, Product Quality, and Associate Safety.
·  Manage daily Supply KPIs and participate in FMOS processes.
·  In conjunction with the Site Quality Manager and Food Safety Team Leader, consistently maintains full compliance status for site Quality and Food Safety standards.
·  Participate in site Internal Audit program including recruitment of auditors, provision of training, managing internal audit schedule, and developing of corrective actions to address findings.
·  Manage the One Point Lesson program in regards to any change requests, establish dates for completion of key tasks and coordinate the implementation of actions.

Key Functional Skills/Knowledge

·  Strong knowledge of FSSC 22000/22002, Quality Management Process, Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety including Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point Systems (HACCP), and Regulatory Guidelines
·  Strong questioning and probing skills to discover issues and to verify the accuracy of information, results, and data.
·  Ability to work with others in R&D, Manufacturing and/or Distribution to improve product, processes and systems
·  Good understanding of current processes in Dries, Mixing, Filling, Thermal Processing, Packaging, and Disposal
·  Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate, influence, negotiate, motivate and lead through influence.
·  Strong written and verbal communication skills
·  Effectively communicate and influence at all levels of the organization including the reporting and presentation of data as required.
·  Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
·  Ability to transfer procedures and training experiences to others
·  Understanding of the change management processes
·  Flexibility to adapt to regularly changing priorities and quality issues
·  Ability to handle sensitive information

Key Experiences

·  Two years of relevant experience in food and or related industries and 3-5 years’ experience in a food manufacturing environment or experience in a technical support area such as Engineering, Quality Control, R&D, or Laboratory Services is acceptable
·  Two years Internal Audit experience
·  Demonstrated Leadership skills
·  Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
·  Demonstrated presentation skills
·  Knowledge of Mars quality systems and lean manufacturing principles preferred

Desired Education

·  BS degree in related science or business field or equivalent is preferred
