Job Summary :

Responsible for day to day operations of the Stewarding department. Direct and assist Stewards in order to make clean up more efficient. Ensure water temperature, and chemical levels are appropriate for cleaning and documented. Assist with Banquet plate-ups. Assist cooks and kitchen staff with various tasks as needed. Provide cooks with needed items. Support banquet and Restaurants by transporting and ensuring adequate stock. Return cleaned items to proper locations, keep consistency in all aspects.
Qualifications :
·  3 years back of house Restaurant experience, 1-year steward experience.
·  Strong leadership skills are necessary.
·  Sanitation Certificate from local Health Department or equivalent required.
·  Must have good communication skills and be detail oriented.
Essential Job Functions:
·  Supervises all job duties to insure they are being completed safely.
·  Must project confidence, fair treatment and respect to all your employees at all times.
·  Responsible for day to day operations of the steward department.
·  Counsels, guides and instructs personnel the proper performance of their duties.
·  Is actively involved in the completion of all daily tasks and duties.
·  Administers and maintains all controls for company assets.
·  Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating and coaching employees.
·  Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools, including the dish washing machine, hand wash stations pot-scrubbing station, and trash compactor base on Health Department and internal standards.
·  Acts as a role model to all employees.
Physical, Mental & Environmental Demands:
·  Must be able to maneuver and work inside kitchen area, sometimes in heat in excess of 130 degrees or cold in excess of 0 degrees.
·  Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling guests and employee conflicts.
·  Must be able to remain calm in stressful situations.
·  Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
·  Ability to read, writes, speak and understand English fluently.
·  Must be able to operate all kitchen equipment and machinery.
·  Must be able to operate a computer.
Must be able to complete all appropriate paperwork for the steward department.
