Job description
We are seeking a junior Legal adviser to work in our Risk Management department to advise KPMG internally. Reporting directly to the Legal Counsel, constantly interacting with client-facing teams as well as Central functions managers, and supporting them with all matters related to contracting and corporate compliance.
The Risk Management department provides a professional legal support service to ensure that KPMG Luxembourg's activities are completed efficiently and accurately to meet business deadlines. More precisely, the post-holder will have involvement and ownership across a broad range of legal matters:
· Performing and supporting contractual reviews from a variety of sources such as KPMG Luxembourg departments, suppliers, clients, subcontractors.
· Solving and following up on issues regarding legal files to ensure that the best possible service can be offered to your stakeholders.
· Researching and evaluating different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations with a full compliance with the KPMG policies and the law.
· Drafting and solidifying agreements, contracts and other legal documents to ensure the company's full legal rights.
· Ensuring compliance with AML/KYC regulations and data privacy rules imposed on Company Auditors and Certified Accountants.
· Providing clarification on legal language or specifications to everyone in the organization.
· Conducting trainings on legal matters.
· Staying informed about professional knowledge and technical skills in the area of Legal in order to maximize your professional knowledge.
The perfect candidate
· A Lawyer with a Master degree in Law with at least 2 or 3 years' experience working with an international law firm or within the legal team of a high-growth company in a relevant industry.
· Excellent knowledge and understanding of contracting law and procedures.
· Good organizational, problem-solving and communication skills.
· Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate on interdepartmental issues with a sense of urgency.
· Strong attention to detail, proactive and committed to quality.
· Fluent in English. French and German are considered as a strong asset.
