Title: Junior Data Analyst

Business Unit: Data and Analytics, TA

Reporting to: Head of Data and Analytics - Thomas Gouws

Purpose of the Job:

The purpose of this role is:

To assist the Data and Analytics team to execute the ETL of data required to develop data models to perform analytics. Furthermore, visualise data sets and analytics results to provide value to clients.

Key job duties or responsibilities:

· Perform the Extraction, Transformation and Loading (ETL) of data from various sources for data analytics projects.

· Troubleshooting and debugging of ETL components used including SQL stored procedures and SSIS to resolve ETL errors.

· Provide quality assurance over imported data.

· Design and develop databases for the storage and use of data.

· Design and develop data models for analytics purposes.

· Querying data sets with T-SQL.

· Basic operational support for Data and Analytics solutions including database administration, database backup and restore.

· Visualising data sets for analysis using data visualisation tools such as Power BI and Qlikview.

· Document working papers to document the processes followed to perform ETL, data quality assurance and data analytics results.

Qualifications and experience

· Senior Certificate with matric exemption

· Data and/or analytics related certification

· Good command of the MS Office suite

· Good command of the T-SQL language

· Good understanding of MS SQL Server, including:

· Administration & security

· Create, backup and restore databases

· Understanding of MS SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and/or SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) will be beneficial.

· Certifications related to MS SQL server and its components will be beneficial.

· Understanding of data modelling methods and standards.

· Understanding of various data and analytical tools, including but not limited to, Qlikview, Power BI and/or other data query and visualisation solutions.

· Basic understanding of data management concepts.
