Job description

The Sea Logistics team in our NYC (Jersey City) branch is in search for a new team member to work as a pricing analyst.

Your Role

This role will have 2 main tasks: Tender/Project Management and Pricing. This entails working closely with various teams (Sea Logistics Trade, Sales, Operations, Legal, IT) to manage bid requests for global key account and house account customers, and to develop pricing and strategy.

Your Responsibilities

•    35% - Sea Freight Pricing Management
o    Develop pricing strategy to handle quote requests for global key account customers
o    Consult clients on their sea logistics supply chain logistics needs
o    Negotiate buy rates with carrier vendors. Ensure coverage of the quoted export sell rates upon official award announcement
o    Maintain relationship with carrier vendors
o    Quote, analyze and manage pricing for 5 US export trade lanes (Oceania, LATAM, Asia, Europe, Middle East and Africa)
o    Manage and update pricing for existing customers
o    Calculate and analyze total spend, gross and net profit to determine supply chain financial sustainability
o    Develop additional functionality for software based tender quotation tool
o    Track and analyze carrier performance
o    Analyze US export sea logistics market pricing trends (IMO 2020, vessel over/under capacity, etc.)
o    Maintain existing business and generate new clientele
o    Create operations guide to coordinate global offices in order to maintain smooth supply chain processes

•    35% - Tender/ Project Management
o    Manage RFQ process for over 300 global key accounts as a team:
    -Guide and coordinate with sales, trade managers, and regional pricing teams
    -Formulate timeline and drive completion of each RFQ
    -Identify gaps in information and support problem solving throughout the RFQ process
    -Post mortem should RFQ result in failure

•    15% - Supply Chain Data Analysis
o    Utilize supply chain and logistics knowledge and advanced analytics to support and manage Sea fright pricing/ trade lanes analytic projects.
    -Create solutions to reduce costs, risks, and improve tender successful ratio.
    -Advance processes for data integration
    -Develop and utilize software solutions to audit and normalize big data used for analysis
    -Discover patterns found in mixed data streams. Build data visualization dashboards in Tableau (a data visualization software) with a purpose to formulate supply chain decisions

•    15% - Database Development
o    Design software tools to improve the efficiency of report generation.
o    Build processes to collect and refresh data regularly from real time production environment.

Your Skills and Experiences

•    Bachelor degree in Business; or equivalent experience.
•    Knowledge of data analytics; Expertise in Tableau is a must; Knowing programming languages like VBA, SQL or Python will be preferable.
•    Advanced analytical skills related to supply chain, logistics, and transportation.
•    Possess solid PC operational knowledge along with MS Office applications experience;
•    Advanced understanding of Supply Chain & Logistics/ Negotiation.
•    Knowledge in Information Systems Management.
•    Knowledge in Project Management.
•    Knowledge in Data Analysis.
•    Knowledge in Database.
•    Seasoned listening skills.
•    Strong verbal/written communication and presentation skills.
•    Self-disciplined and self-motivated to produce outstanding results.
•    Strong telephone and networking skills.
•    Detail oriented.
•    Ability to think outside the box.
