HGV Class 1 driver

Job description

The role will be to make safe deliveries to retail / wholesale customers and breweries within agreed timescales, all shift patterns include elements of weekend working.

Your Responsibilities

·  Permanent night shifts, shifts include permanent (full) weekends, days off are either Tuesday & Wednesday or Thursday & Wednesday
·  Conduct full inspection of vehicle
·  Fuelling Vehicles
·  Safe and efficient handling of vehicle in all respects, including the optimisation of fuel usage, cleanliness of vehicle
·  Presenting vehicles for loading when required, that are in a compliant and road worthy condition
·  Ensuring load security and stability, adequately restraining loads in line with processes and procedures
·  Responsible for the security of the vehicle & load at all times
·  Ensure that all delivery procedures are followed in line with Company and Customer procedures

Your Skills and Experiences

·  Class 1 Driving Licence (Clean Driving Licence)
·  Digital Tacho card with knowledge of how to use it and Valid Driver Qualification Card (DCPC)
·  Evidence of completing records of work and documentation
·  Knowledge of vehicle weight, height, width and road restrictions, with the emphasis of economy of movement
·  Experience of checking goods on and off and obtaining proof of delivery documentation whilst ensuring security of vehicle and goods contained during transit to customer premises
·  Previous experience in a similar role and be physically fit to cope with the demands of this role and a good working knowledge of EU driving regulations and Working Time Directive Legislation
·  A hard working, positive and flexible attitude is essential and ability to prioritise and manage tasks in a pressurised environment
·  This is a multi-drop operation, and the successful candidate needs to be physically fit to meet the demands of the role
