Salary

Pay in range £8.72 to £11.45 per hour. This is negotiable dependent on relevant skills and experience. The pay range for this role will increase from £9.05 to £11.60 from 1st April 2020 per hour. Additional shift allowance also where applicable

37.5 hours per week working five out of seven days with weekend working on a rota basis.

Duties & Responsibilities

We are looking for passionate, driven individuals to join our National Distribution operation for John Lewis & Partners stores as Warehouse Assistants.

Based in Bracknel in our Chilled Warehousel, you will be responsible for ensuring the warehouse is supporting all the Partnership channels by managing stock coming into and being sent out of the warehouse.

Performing duties of unloading and loading stock, accurately recording deliveries into the warehouse, moving stock around the warehouse and collecting stock for deliveries. All these duties to be performed in a safe manner with an awareness of individual responsibility for health and safety at all times.

Job Requirements

The role of a Warehouse Assistant involves a range of tasks including picking branch orders accurately and within productivity targets, loading and unloading vehicles, and general cleaning of the warehouse areas.

This is a physically demanding role which would also require flexibility to work across different departments within the operation and would best suit an individual who enjoys working as part of a team.

It is also a fast paced role where you will be responsible, as a team, for delivering the department objectives of having the right stock, in the right place, at the right time to meet the demands of the business.

Required desirable experience skills and qualifications

• Previous experience in a warehouse role involving the movement of caged stock and manual handling would be an advantage, as would working in a retail environment.
• Basic computer skills are required to use to stock control systems.
