High School graduate or equivalent.
The position may require the employee to work with chemical and biological agents that may be hazardous to health if mishandled (including agents which may potentially affect reproductive health and/or development of the fetus). Assignments will be executed in laboratories. Employees will be required to follow all safety procedures and use personal protective clothing/equipment as provided by the company where specified.
Physical Requirements :
Must be able to adequately perform required job functions. This includes being able to lift, bend and move in such a way as to perform job tasks in a safe and approved manner. Must be able to operate equipment required by this position in a safe and approved manner.
Both written procedures and verbal instructions will be executed with strict attention to safety and quality. Accurate and timely execution of activities and results are a requirement. Strict adherence to federal, state and local regulations is required. Collaborative work with other employees is a necessity to achieve departmental and company goals. Work will require working in laboratory areas using established procedures.
Execute hazardous waste and medical waste programs as directed by operations management. Collect and consolidate waste according to all safety and operational procedures. Personnel pick up and transport hazardous waste to designated storage areas, weighs Regulated Medical Waste boxes, and completes the required documentation. Remove all hazardous waste from a laboratory at the end of projects, according to establish SOP’s, so that the space is ready for new projects. Decontaminate waste containers using approved chemical agents and remove from area per the requisite SOP. Assist in daily work activities including preparation and delivery of media, autoclaving of materials, and delivery of lab consumables to designated area and/or person(s). Assist in other lab services operations as needed. Perform other duties as assigned at an equal or lower level as directed or needed. Provide metrics, volumetrics, and required documentation as applicable.
Must possess a valid driver's license and complete appropriate training based on vehicles utilized where applicable.
Must have adequate skills to perform required job functions with minimal supervision.
