WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE

We are looking for people who are self driven to provide inspiration to our customers by demonstrating a keen eye for aesthetics supported by commercial visual competence. You should have a practical, hands-on approach to tasks by actively seeking improved methods of working in a simple, lean and cost-efficient way. This role will involve spending 20% of your time planning and 80% out on the shop floor implementing your plan.

Ideally, you will have a relevant Interior Design or Architecture Qualification and 2 years plus experience in a relevant hands-on interior design position within a retail or home furnishing setting. The candidate should be computer proficient with knowledge and experience of using relevant software including ideally Revit, otherwise AutoCAD and SketchUp.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

• Contribute to position the IKEA store as the first choice for home furnishing in your local market.
• Apply your home furnishing knowledge to ensure up-to-date room settings and other store media that exceed our visitors’ expectations.
• Stimulate and inspire interest for home furnishing by constantly showcasing new solutions that motivate people to visit the IKEA store frequently.
• Reflect the IKEA Brand identity by creating visual impact in all commercial, sales support and co-worker areas.
. Stay up to date and knowledgeable about home furnishing, retailing and trends in
order to contribute in workshops to generate creative ideas.
. Contribute to the content of the department action plan with iniatives that will
grow the business and support long-term profitability and execute the agreed
plans together with the Com&In team and other functions.
. Respect routines & responsibilities, work together with Com&In and other
functions, act quickly to exploit commercial opportunities and understand the
impact of your actions on the financial results.

RECRUITMENT PROCESS INFORMATION

The recruitment for this role is a 3 stage process. If your initial application meets the requirements you will be invited to complete an online design task. The successful online tasks will progress to a virtual interview, candidates who pass the virtual interview will be progressed to the 3rd and final stage - an instore design task lasting 4 hours.
