As the world’s first international luxury travel hotel brand, InterContinental Hotels & Resorts has been pioneering new international destinations for decades. Each of our hotels is a destination in its own right, and we are dedicated to those who appreciate and enjoy The InterContinental Life – the glamour and exhilaration of fascinating places, mixed with our international know-how and local cultural wisdom.
InterContinental Hayman Island Resort in the Great Barrier Reef is an ultra-luxury private island resort currently undergoing restoration and construction works. With the Resort reopening on 1 July 2019, we are currently seeking engaged and motivated professionals to be a part of our Reservations Team. We currently have an opportunity for a Reservations Agent to join our Reservations Team, supporting the Resort remotely from InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort on the Gold Coast!
Your day to day
If you'd like to embrace a wider world of experiences and opportunities, we'd like to welcome you to the world's most international luxury hotel brand as a Reservations Agent. A key role in our Reservations Team focussed on ensuring our guests begin to experience the InterContinental Life, even before they arrive on the island.
Reporting into the Reservations Manager, you’ll liaise directly with our guests via phone and email knowing efficiency, accuracy and personalised interactions are key to success in this role. On the daily, you’ll;
· Assist guests with reservation enquiries and think outside the box to make their stay memorable, while identifying opportunities to maximise their spend; from boat transfers to unique experiences, you’ll know how to tailor their stay and bring the InterContinental Life alive.
· Be responsible for providing prompt, courteous and efficient handling of all requests for guest reservations, changes and cancellations.
· Process all reservations prior to guest arrivals and work collaboratively with our Front Office team to ensure our guests have a seamless arrival experience and all requests are actioned.
· Manage a range of guests such as leisure, groups, corporate clients and travel agents.
· Be a Resort ambassador, positively representing the InterContinental and IHG brands.
What we need from you
Ideally, you’ll have previous experience as a Guest Service Agent or Reservations Agent and at least one years’ experience in a Front Office Team and are looking for the next challenge in your career. You’ll have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enthusiasm to work within a team, experience in delivering a high level of guest experience in a hotel environment and conflict resolution. Knowledge of a hotel property management system such as Opera would also be desirable.
You will have the flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, overnights, weekends and public holidays across a seven day roster. You must hold a current Australian driver’s license and also meet the legal requirements to work in this country.
What we offer
