Job description

This position resides in Toronto, Ontario and is a 4-month (internship) work term commencing May 2020 . It is mandatory that all applicants are enrolled in full-time studies at a post-secondary institution and returning to full-time studies upon completion of the work term.

Our design-first organization applies Enterprise Design Thinking and Lean Startup techniques to help our clients, large and small, deliver amazing experiences to their customers by helping them identify and build the right application on IBM Cloud.

We're looking for an innovative, self-motivated, and inspired Visual Designer to join our highly skilled design team. The visual designer will use their skills in typography, hierarchy, color, etc, to produce innovative and useful digital designs. This role requires a passion for craft and a great attention to detail. Our team will depend on you to be an enthusiastic collaborator - someone who participates a culture of iteration, constructive feedback and consistent communication.

A candidate must provide a portfolio that demonstrates their design process and shows typographic skills, understanding of color and visual hierarchy, and aesthetics. Experience working in a contracting environment is a plus.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

·  Co-op or internship program enrollment is mandatory
·  Demonstration of delightful and innovative designs
·  Demonstrate an ability to create wireframes and high-fidelity designs using tools such as Sketch and Invision
·  Ability to conceptualize quickly and present in-progress work for critique
·  Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in typography, color theory and iconography
·  Create and translate wireframes into visual designs
