Job description

Research Staff Member, IBM Corporation, San Jose, CA: Research and develop novel approaches, algorithms, and computer frameworks to ensure performance, reliability, security, and privacy of machine learning systems. Work with business units to bring ideas to market while maintaining long-term research agenda. Identify and defend against attacks on machine learning systems. Develop a framework for privacy-preserving federated learning which can be tailored to a specific application domain's requirements. Create novel concepts for improving AI security and privacy, design solutions, and contribute to the implementation of solutions. Contribute to the development of intellectual property in the forms of patents and publications and present findings at academic and industry conferences. Utilize Risk Assessment; Secure system design, access control, trust management, and applied cryptography; Privacy and anonymization techniques such as differential privacy, k-anonymity, and I-diversity; distributed systems; anomaly detection; and Algorithms and advanced programming in Python, and Java. Required: PhD degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or related and one (1) year of experience as a Graduate Student Researcher, Graduate Student Assistant, or related. One (1) year of experience must include utilizing Risk Assessment; Secure system design, access control, trust management, and applied cryptography; Privacy and anonymization techniques such as differential privacy, k-anonymity, and I-diversity; distributed systems; anomaly detection; and Algorithms and advanced programming in Python, and Java.
