Mainframe Systems Programmer - CICS Support

Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Development and maintenance of required documentation in WIKI, WORD, POWERPOINT, and EXCEL
• CICS for z/OS problem determination and resolution
• Build, change and, if necessary, troubleshoot scheduled CICS jobs
• Follow the customer's hand-over procedures
• Recommend and make performance improvements to CICS for z/OS
• CICS back-up and recovery in data sharing and non-data sharing environment
• Installation and migration of CICS in data sharing and non-data sharing environments
• CICS performance and tuning
• CICS problem analysis and problem resolution
• Support the planning, configuration, and migration of CICS systems in a large, international installations with multiple locations in a multi-customer environment
• Oral and written communication with management – daily
• Readiness to work nights and weekends - As required
• Technical lead in Version /Release upgrades, migrations, and change projects - As required
• Participation in customer projects - As required
• Configuration Management and Change Control Procedures – As required
• Troubleshooting software failures, including contact with and support from IBM Product Support (PMR and SCCD) as well as the Allianz Incident & Problem Management System (IPM)

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Several years specialised experience with IBM's CICS for z/OS
• Expert knowledge of CICS for z/OS systems programming
• Expert knowledge of CICS for z/OS Utilities
• Expert knowledge of CICS Administration
• Expert knowledge of CICS log and trace analysis
• Expert knowledge of CICS Monitors (BMC Mainview for CICS, IBM TMON for CICS, Omegamon for CICS)
• Good verbal and written English communication skills
