Lease Data Controller

Job description

An exciting and challenging opportunity has been identified in the Global Real Estate EMEA team to be Lease Data Controller (LDC) for the entire EMEA leased estate. In EMEA alone IBM has over 640 active lease contracts and this in turn generates tens of thousands of specific data points, many of which are continually changing as IBM's leases and lease requirements evolve. Real estate represents both a highly strategic and high spend IBM asset and having the appropriate skills in place to manage such a portfolio is deemed to be business critical.

The quality and integrity of IBM's Lease Data has always been of upmost priority. However, the recent changes to the International Accounting Standards means that ALL leases are now directly impacting on IBM's balance sheet. To meet this challenge IBM has implemented TRIRIGA Lease module globally which is designed to provide an automated data feed to TRIRIGA Accounting module. IBM engages a panel of specialist service providers to manage the abstraction and upload of lease data. In addition Global Real Estate's Portfolio Management team provide a critical feed of business specific data in order to complete the monthly reporting data set.

The LDC role is a critical additon to the Global Real Estate team who will take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of a 100% accurate lease data set as an ongoing program. The LDC will work closely with both Lease Administrator suppliers and the GRE Portfolio Management team as well as liaising closely with Global Real Estate Finance and IBM Accounting. The LDC will work closely with the EMEA Lease Operations Manager and will report to the EMEA Leasing & Transactions Manager as part of the EMEA Leasing and Transactions function

In addition the LDC will also be responsible for the Lease Data journey into other IBM systems and processes such as TRIRIGA Space, the Information Warehouse and in support of specific programs and initiatives. Ad hoc portfolio wide projects such as supporting GDPR and Trust and Compliance initiatives would also be an aspect of the role

Due to the highly specialised and demanding nature of the role the successful candidate must have a proven and demonstrable track record of delivery in Lease Administration practices and projects. Previous TRIRIGA experience is also essential for the role and it is expected that the successful applicant will effectively be able to make a 'running start' as the FASB program is already live. Knowledge and experience of the FASB subject matter is also essential
