This position is a technical development role. The BIOS engineer will work in a project team to deliver the next generation of industry standard server platforms. Primary responsibility is to develop the overall product functionality and meeting all applicable technical specification. BIOS engineer is responsible for the system firmware deliverables, in terms of design, development, validation and testing, maintenance and releases.
Expert in your chosen field, you’ll be responsible for evaluate software/firmware performance, investigate and integrate latest technologies. Analyze equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests and evaluate results. You will need to apply developed subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business issues within established guidelines and recommend appropriate alternatives. As part of the technical management function, you will be responsible develop and manage the product specification, development schedule, meet various deliverables, resolve technical issues, and ensure product meets specification and quality goal. You will be responsible to develop and deliver functional firmware code base, monitor test cases and review technical design information to provide clear direction to ODM. In addition, you will also be working with third party BIOS vendors and suppliers to ensure product features are being met.
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s (Undergraduate), Master’s (graduate) or Ph. D (post-graduate) degree in computer science, computer engineering or electrical engineering.
Minimum of 4 years of BIOS coding/design experience including C/C++, Windows, UNIX, Object oriented programming and X86 Assembly programming skills; product life cycle execution: definition, design, verification and test prototyping, debugging, qualification, release to production, etc.; experience with Industry Standard servers, personal computers, notebooks, hand held devices, Storage devices, or other computing products required. System firmware development experience for x86 products. Knowledge in x86 computer architecture and microprocessor knowledge. Project management experience desired.
Skills:
Expertise in one or more of these industry standards: UEFI, ACPI, PCI, IPMI, MPS, SMBIOS, Plug and Play, Power management, and system management. Fluent in x86 assembly language and programming models. Comfortable in team working environment. Commitment and self-motivation.
Fluency in English and local language
