Role Summary/Purpose

As part of the Repair Technology Center of Excellence (RT CoE), the Turbine Module Repair Engineer role is responsible for the engineering ownership of advanced gas turbine components for services, focusing on technology and productivity initiatives.
Essential Responsibilities
In this capacity, you will coordinate with the various Power Services teams, to create standardized component repairs and processes for contractual services productivity, as well as transactional services fulfilment and growth
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
• Support the development of new tooling and processes created by the RTCoE by providing technical advice, design reviews, and information about current repair processes.
• Industrialize – responsible for supporting the validation and industrialization of RTCoE projects and tooling being implemented in their respective shop.
• Identify repair scopes where RTCoE repair processes and tooling can be utilized and assist the Service Center with equipment use and operator training.
• Participate in tollgate reviews, conceptual design reviews, and detailed design reviews.
• Lead repair projects that improve safety, quality, productivity, and cycle using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.
• Provide estimated time savings and benefits information related to the financial justification for new tools and equipment.
• Continually provide new product/component and special process ideas to the RTCoE’s project pipeline.
• Participate in New Product Introduction (NPI) sprints, Lean Action Workouts, and general RTCoE group meetings.
• Write Repair Engineering Instructions (REI’s) that detail repair limits, procedures, or new equipment qualification.
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering, Materials Science, or related engineering field of study from an accredited college or university
Desired Characteristics
• Experience in Gas Turbine HGP/Combustion manufacture, design or repair
• Six Sigma training or equivalent quality training
• Strong mechanical design and analytical background
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes
• Ability to drive projects to completion
• Strong communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
