Role Summary/Purpose

The Principal Engineer - Services will work with the Service Chief Engineer and other parts of Service, including all GE modalities, Field service and Digital Technology to provide technology leadership that are critical to providing world class service to GEHC customers and benefit the business financially.
Essential Responsibilities

This role requires the interaction with other design engineering teams, online Center engineers to ensure the product performance, functionality, cost, serviceability and quality/reliability goals set forth by the business.

In this role, you will:

·  Define/consolidate standards and targets for the modalities around data

·  Define ecosystem for GEHC Services Monitoring and IOT in partnership data sciences and central teams.

·  Develop strategic growth opportunity for environmental monitoring technology portfolio at the business level - MaaS (Monitoring as a service) in global services

·  Collaborate with GE Healthcare business and functional partners and technology leadership to define and then own high priority, high impact projects focused on Maintenance, Remote Service and Diagnostic Product Requirements

·  Lead design development for advance technology projects by coordinating efforts with other principal engineers and explore multiple design options.

·  Enable fast prototyping of new technologies by owning design, modeling and implementation.

·  Develop and maintain quality and engineering project funnel. Hands on experience and able to develop concepts.

·  Demonstrate technical and/or scientific thought leadership within and outside of GE

·  Guide multi-generational technology and/or scientific strategies based on understanding of the market, customer needs, competitors, and regulatory requirements/standards

·  Lead the intellectual property strategy for a technology or scientific function or product area based on understanding of GE and competitive technologies

·  Oversee standardization, technical design reviews and quality culture

·  Work with internal and external organizations (GRC, academics, vendors, etc.) to develop technical and/or scientific differentiation for the future

·  Teaches, coaches, and mentors less experienced engineers and/or scientists

·  Oversee power and grounding opportunities in our products and servicing
Qualifications/Requirements

Basic Qualification:

·  BS Degree in Computer Science, Mechanical, Electrical or Biomedical Engineering

·  10 years of relevant work experience in system design experience

Eligibility Requirement:

·  Must be willing to travel 15%

·  Must be willing to work out of an office located in Waukesha, WI
Desired Characteristics

·  Experience in Medical Device design and regulations

·  Knowledge of regulatory and safety requirements for Medical Devices

·  Demonstrated project leadership and influencing skills

·  Design for reliability experience

·  Proven experience on in Software Development Process and Agile methodologies• Demonstrated experience in IOT platforms, AI and ML

·  Experience with medical device production or operation or servicing.

·  Demonstrated customer focus – evaluates decisions through the eyes of the customer, builds strong customer relationships, creates processes with customer viewpoint

·  Change oriented –champions and drives change initiatives, confronts difficult circumstances in creative ways, balances multiple and competing priorities and executes accordingly

·  Strong interpersonal and communication skills

·  Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) with all levels of an organization

·  Strong team player – collaborates well with others in global locations to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various sources
