Role Summary/Purpose

As the Metal Fabricator, you will work at the Erlanger Service Center to fabricate metal subassemblies for power generation equipment and repair. You will use a Drill Press, Shear, Iron Worker Machine, Shear Machine and perform layout operations to fashion components following blueprints and specific work instructions. This is a Second Shift position.
Essential Responsibilities

As the Metal Fabricator, you will:
Prepare and operate manual machines (drill press, grinders, saw, shears, and punch presses)
Follow step by step instructions for fabricating an assembly or component either written, oral, or by following a diagram
Operate cranes, forklifts, bevellers, and machines that perform various machine functions, such as cutting, shaping,
drilling, grinding, deburring, and bending of metallic work pieces
Demonstrate knowledge of machine tool capabilities, ability to machine materials, and complete shop math
Read and follow blueprints, planning sheets, rules, sketches, templates, machinery handbook, and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, material requirements, control settings, and machining methods and sequences
Be responsible for producing high quality work and achieve tight tolerances to fixtures and engineered drawings
Use a variety of measuring devices
Qualifications/Requirements

High School Diploma/GED
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a metal fabrication environment, minimum of 2 years reading and comprehending engineered manufacturing drawings/blue prints
Ability and willingness to calculate figures, basic math, and understanding of measuring metrics
Ability and willingness to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
Ability and willingness to set up metal fabrication equipment
