Role Summary/Purpose

GE is running test campaigns in a high-speed single cavity rig (HS-SCR) to evaluate the effect of bore buoyancy in compressor drum cavities.
The student work will focus on heat transfer analyses, as well as data interpretation for the support of the thermal model validation. Additionally, the student will be involved in the testing phases of the rig, the verification of instrumentation and the performance of the key rig modules.
Essential Responsibilities

The work will involve the setup of numerical models, model results and test data post-processing, as well as interpretation of heat transfer data for the validation of the overall rig thermal model.

Your specific responsibilities will include:

·  Setup of numerical models

·  Interpretation of numerical results

·  Test data evaluation

·  Rig Commissioning support to verify individual modules functionality and performance

Qualifications/Requirements

·  Good academic track record

·  Excellent communication skills

·  Can-do attitude

·  Open and creative

·  Team-work & commitment

·  Fluency in English

·  Currently enrolled at a university
