Role Summary/Purpose

To provide Mechanical Engineering Packages i.e HVAC, Fire Protection and associated systems like Water Treatment, BMS, automation etc. for Grid Solutions conventional & emerging technology projects in GE power domain as per customer specification / requirements and international standards as applicable.
To integrate with overall electro-mechanical, automation & controls, civil & structure works and provide overall integrated solution for MEP packages.
Essential Responsibilities

·Conceptualize, design & implement Mechanical Engineering Packages for Grid Solution Projects under global / international environment i.e. within region India as well as for other regions under GE Power framework.
Study of Specification / Technical inputs. Prepare Compliance to customer observation / comments. Evolve cost effective / optimized solutions.
Preparation of Technical Design, Engineering Calculations and Drawings. Check & Validate design documents
Selection & Ordering of equipment, Bought-on-Jobs materials
Attend Customer technical meetings for obtaining approvals
Release of installation, commissioning & testing instructions.
Co-ordinate with various stakeholders for internal validation and participate in FAT as required.
Provide support to the site team to resolve technical issues and snag lists
Prepare As-built documentation.
Share Return of Experience & Knowledge Capitalization. Implement the applicable RoEs during design phase.
Time schedule & On Time delivery :
Participate with Team leader / Project Management and finalize submission of deliverables, and commit in terms of man days and delivery.
Manage design time spent on relevant activities
Ensure on-time delivery of Quality design deliverables..
Lead technical discussion with customer and obtain approval on Engineering documents;
Deliver quality on-time documentation for procurement, manufacturing, testing, site erection and commissioning.
Manage subcontracting works with external engineering service providers, MEP contractors etc.
Anticipate and mitigate delivery issues and recommend change
On weekly basis provide Team lead and /or PM with project reviews.
Project strategy, risk management, Process & Tools :
Follow project strategy
Highlight scope or design changes (data for claims, VO)
Track, manage & mitigate identified or potential deviations / risks
Comply with Quality Procedures, work instructions and Processes.
Deploy Engineering tools as per strategy
Sourcing & Procurement, Supplier management :
Ensure issuance of technical specifications and basic document to enable procurement of materials.
Coordinate and review technical offers from suppliers for relevant activity
Manage technical interface with sub suppliers & partners, prepare input data , check consistency
Mandatory:
Capability to handle HVAC, FF & all mechanical systems related issues with unit or external agency for all national or international projects.
Excellent skill set on optimized, reliable & efficient solution for conventional, complex or emerging technology projects like solar or other alternate energy solutions etc
Willing to take new challenges and push the limits for new business opportunities.
Experience of trouble shooting and hands on site experience.
Costing awareness and able to support ITO and budgeting processes
Qualifications/Requirements

·Bachelor Degree in Engineering
5-8 years of relevant experience in power industry.
Product knowledge & knowledge on available solutions by various reputed manufacturers.
Engineering calculations & Design tools.
Work Exposure for International Projects / International standards shall be added advantage.
